唐朝统治边疆取得很大成就,但也存在不足与局限,这与统治者的治边思想及其治策有关.笔者以对西南边疆的统治为例,分析了唐朝统治者治边思想的形成和由此在西南地区施行的治策,进而指出历代王朝的治边思想及治策有一个发展演变的过程,雷同化地予以看待有悖史实.
